Fred’s Shed

Gourmet dining at Fred's shed

This weekend we were guests at ‘Fred’s Shed’ in Werribee (pronounced Wewibee with Fred’s fabulous Swedish accent). Great dining, company, dogs, music and mayhem with the lovely crew of folk I’ve come to know through the official No 1 Stringbean Fan – Peter Adams. I remember meeting Peter and Margaret while gigging at the Greyhound Hotel, such friendly faces that I had to go and have a drink and a chat at their table and now it is like I’ve known them forever. Peter and his friend Rod have that Harley Davidson obsession that overtakes men of a certain age and predisposition and their working on clocking up their road trips. BUT now Peter is taking up the Banjo! He’s ordered it (he’s left handed) and he’s planning on contributing to Geoff Wright’s superannuation fund (he thinks the learning might take a while!) And he tells us that there is room for another banjo player with the recent demise of legendary banjo pioneer Earl Scruggs! I’m looking forward to seeing the banjo strapped to the Harley!
