Whitsunday Uke-aholics; House Concert and Bye to the Whitsundays

Posted by on August 7, 2012

Time is racing away….. our final few weeks in the Whitsundays was busy as always. We became honorary members of the Whitsunday Uke-aholics after attending a great dog friendly session at the Parrot Head home of Phil Solomon. Thank you to all those folks, who were so welcoming, we enjoyed meeting you all! Sorry to have not made the acquaintance earlier in our stay. We finished off our stay with a divine house concert way up in the hills of Riordanvale, overlooking Abel Point and the beautiful bay. We’d like to thank Pam Pole for organising the event and Bill and Jo for their fabulous hospitality. Such divine acoustics in the house and a lovely bunch of folks in attendance. We performed a cross-section of music and styles and then enjoyed a jam with everyone

afterwards. (We’ve got a little video footage from the evening, so when I get a chance, I’ll get some up on the website.) I can see why people get stuck when they reach the Whitsundays, such natural beauty all around and a lovely small community to mix in….. we’ll be back there sometime!
